Founded in 1965 and now is one of the 25 largest Universities in the nation. F.I.U. emphasizes research as a major component of its mission and is ranked as a research University in the High Research Activity category of the Carnegie Foundations prestigious classification system.
The Universities marine science department will be monitoring FOCUS as an ongoing research project with additional interdisciplinary involvement in the arts.

Lee E. Harris Ph. D Dr. Harris is providing the structural integrity and stability analysis for the FOCUS project.
Dr. Harris has an educational background in ocean, coastal and civil engineering specializing in coastal and ocean structures and oceanographic data collection. He is a professor at Florida Institute of Technology and was named in Whos Who in Frontier Science and Technology as well as serving as a United Nations consultant.

Paradise Video and Film has been documenting the art of Ross power since 1985. Tom Brunstetter, the companys president, is truly an artist in his field. His partnering with Mr. Power signifies his passion for educating through the use of the video and film media.

Miamis premier dive operator has been operating U.S. Coast Guard inspected vessels from Miami Beach for over 20 years. Their state of the art 46 vessel is operated by Captain Mike Beach who is deeply committed to raising awareness of the conditions of our oceans, reefs and marine life. Their involvement with the long term Focus project begins with installation then continues with maintenance and monitoring of the sculptural marine habitat by bringing scientists,. media, photographers and divers to the FOCUS sight.
